Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. § 794d), as amended by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, requires that Federal departments and agencies who procure, develop, maintain, or use electronic information technology, ensure that Federal employees and members of the public with disabilities have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to the access and use of information and data that is available to individuals without disabilities.
