American Veterans LLC Leads Open Source Initiatives
February 26, 2013

Department of Veterans Affairs

American Veterans partner SBG Technology Solutions proudly supports the Twenty-First Century Medical Scheduling Contest with the Department of Veterans Affairs, a key component of the VA's transformation of its approach to information technology. The antithesis of the traditional internally focused approach to IT, the contest is an outreach to the technical community at large seeking the very best ideas and capabilities available. Underscoring the VA's commitment to open-source software, this outreach is focused on the two primary goals of assessing the current state of the art in medical scheduling and providing a conduit by which the VA can access the creativity and innovative capacity of the software development community. SBG supports this initiative by providing a variety of comprehensive contest support services.

Navy Open Architecture

American Veterans partner SBG Technology Solutions supports the Navy Open Systems Architecture team in designing and implementing a strategy for maximizing the benefits of open-source engineering. American Veterans provides strategic planning, change management and administrative support to expand open-architecture principles and awareness amongst Navy engineers, program managers and contracting officers.

Navy PEO Space Systems

American Veterans' partner SBG technology Solutions supports PEO Space Systems with engineering and technical services to bolster technical support of open-architecture efforts to reduce acquisition cost and improve project efficiency. SBG supports the Information Technology Functional Solutions Analysis effort, a Department of Defense level working group, with the ongoing development of the Software Reconfigurable Payloads concept, designed to rapidly insert new capability into existing satellites systems.

American Veterans, LLC Awarded Coveted GSA VETS GWAC Contract

December 18th, 2006

American Veterans, LLC., was awarded the prestigious Veterans Technology for Services (VETS) Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC).

The VETS GWAC is a $5 billion small business set-aside contract for service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVO) small technology firms. It is the result of Executive Order 13360 that is designed to strengthen federal contracting opportunities for SDVO technology firms. VETS presents a new way for federal agencies to achieve small business goals through the purchase of Information Technology solutions from small businesses owned by services-disabled veterans.

American Veterans is one of only 43 businesses selected from a nationwide pool of over 700 applicants by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for Functional Area Two - Information Systems Engineering. Eligible contractors will be able to compete for federal government procurements under this contract set-aside that has a five-year option period and potential overall value of $5 billion.

American Veterans is a Joint Venture between SBG Technology Solutions, Inc. and Ray Group International, LLC. All members of American Veterans are service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB).
